Computer Science Education Week
CSEdWeek which stands for Computer Science Education Week is an annual event set up with the aim of encouraging more students to learn computer science.
This year’s program runs from 8-14 December 2014 and was kicked off by President Obama. He invited 30 students to the White House to take part in the Hour of Code.
In his speech he said “While no one is born a computer scientist, becoming a computer scientist isn’t scary as it sounds. With hard work and a little math and science anyone can do it.” President Obama too tried and by doing so became the first president of United States to code.
It has been a year since the start of the first “Hour of Code” and so far over 50 million students have taken part.
With so many exciting opportunities int tech hopefully more students will sign up in the coming year.
