Gadget lovers everywhere have had a tough time trying to decide which tech to buy this year with so much on the market. Here are just some of our favourites that were released in 2015.

1. Apple Watch

Eagerly anticipated and much hailed as the tech must-have item of the year, the Apple Watch wasn’t without its detractors. With almost 40 different designs and compatibility with the iPhone 5 onwards, though, it’s still on many people’s list for Christmas.

Better detail and higher definition, with brighter colours and everything you could want in a TV, LG’s OLED model has added something fresh in a fairly settled market. For those who like a cinema experience at home this is a must have piece of kit. It all comes down to how the TV treats those ‘black’ areas which realise the full potential of colours on the screen.

3. Microsoft Surface Book

There are plenty of competitors on the market but Microsoft’s Surface Book is still a powerful tablet/pc that packs a punch despite some initial problems with the hardware. A little more expensive than some other products on the market, it’s slim and elegant design has many geeks hooked.

4. Go Pro Hero Four

Filming on the move has been all the rage this year. Whether you’re on a bike screaming down a hill, surfing waves in Honolulu or skiing in the Alps, strapping the Go Pro Hero Four to your helmet helps record every exciting moment.

5. Sonos Play

Whilst gadgets and gizmos are the things of the moment, we all still like a good sound system to throw out our favourite tunes at home. The Sonos Play 5 is the wireless speaker that delivers quality sound that you simply can’t beat.

2015 has also been a year for the drones and there are many on the market to choose from. The Parrot Bebop Drone has a powerful on board computer and takes great HD pictures, a must for any budding movie director or drone enthusiast.

11. Microsoft HaloLens

Augmented Reality has taken a step back in recent times after companies like Starbucks started using it to advertise their coffee. It has the potential to seriously change the world though and devices such as the Mircorsoft HaloLens could put some punch back into the industry. If you like data that merges with the real world, then this was the perfect toy for 2015.

12. DJI Phantom 3 Professional Drone

Back to the drones and you won’t find anything more state of the art than the Phantom 3 which can shoot 30 frames per second at 4K. Easy to control but coming in at steeper price than many other models on the market, it’s well worth the extra few pounds for the quality pro filming.

13. LittleBits Gizmos & Gadgets Kit

If you want your kid to get involved in tech science, particularly circuits and engineering, then this offering from LittleBits has proved a big hit. Remember those boys and girls are growing up in a world of smartphones and video consoles so it’s never too early to get them learning how it actually works. It may even have a few parents hooked this Christmas.

14. Matter MOD-t 3D Printer

And finally, no list would be complete without a cheap home 3D printer that kicks all the rest into touch. Costing just a few hundred pounds this can easily produce plastic models of a decent size which means all you have to do is load and print. Great for those who want an introduction to 3D printing and budding designers who want to see what their creations look like in the real world.
