Stepping into the New Age of Beauty, Fashion, and Health
For those of you that have tried Loreal’s new Makeup Genius app, where you download an app that scans your face and allows you to try different makeup looks to see which one fits you most, one thing is for sure. There is something moving fast forward bringing us to a new era. Technology has joined forces with the beauty, fashion, and health industry and are all flourishing with innovative ideas that can make our lives easier, happier, and healthier, if we so wish to.
Introducing the Hottest Fashion Apps
The racing competition between health and fitness companies, alongside businesses all over the fashion and beauty world, has presented us some really great apps and wearables. Take for example Fits.me or Fitiquette. They are virtual fitting rooms that provide online clothing retailers with a powerful tool (and customers with increased online shopping experience). With such apps, online retailers give their online visitors a unique advantage: the possibility to try out their clothes online and see how they fit, before making a purchase. The apps even have size recommendation options, so no one gets lost in doubts about sizes and whether something they see and like actually fits them! For the retailer, this is translated into more shoppers’ engagement (hence more chances a visitor becomes a [returning] customer) and significant reduction in returns, which has always been a painful thorn for clothing brands. Now, nothing is too short, too tight, too shiny, or too long! This instantly saves UK fashion retailers a good 90.76 million a year! Imagine what this means when considering the global market! Now, for us, the happy consumers, it means we leave online stores with significantly less fit-related worries and enhanced chances to impress the crowds with our new outfits!
What’s New in the Fitness World?
Of course, the health and fitness sector could not have stayed out of this app orgy. The 2013 IDEA World Fitness Conference has thrown some really impressive apps on the table. According to world-renowned fitness professionals, the apps that are expected to nail in 2015 are HIIT-related applications (High Intensity Interval Training exercises), such as HIIT interval training timer (there are plenty more out there!). Microsoft has also stepped forward with a much promising fitness tracker, the Microsoft Band, which is a black wearable that helps you track your heart rate, steps, and stride, while showing you emails, texts, and Twitter alerts!
However, the invention that will most likely steal your heart is Q Designs. It is a sleek bracelet (comes in silver, gold, and black) that conceals a lithium-ion battery that gives your phone a 60% charge! A bangle that all iOS and Android owners will undoubtedly appreciate and love!
